Rock the Beat (Hot Guy: Tripp)

Rock the Beat is the third book (technically, the 5th book) of a series by author Michelle A. Valentine. I can't believe I finally read it! I've been wanting to read this book ever since I fell in love with Riff in the second book. I did read these books out of order BUT there's a good reason (kind of...). I discovered Riff's book first (Rock my Bed) and I couldn't help myself! It had such a good storyline and the characters sounded so interesting, and they were. So I read Rock my Bed first. Then I saw this book and I could not help myself. This book could be read as a stand alone novel, the previous characters don't make long or important appearances.

"Don't let the tattoos fool you, sweetness. There's a stellar mind behind these good looks."

I loved Rock the Beat! It was absolute fantastic. I really thought I wasn't going to like it because Riff set really high expectations for me; his dirty talk was HOT. BUT Tripp is right up there with Riff with the dirty talking. He has a tough ( and HOT) exterior, he's a tattooed man! He sleeps around and he loves it, he doesn't want to ever settle down. He's seen is friends do it and knows settling down is not the thing for him. He's my dream man. I know I dropped this bomb, but let me explain it. Yes, he's a player and a badass with a dirty mouth, but he's also the sweetest guy. Tripp's transformation was absolutely perfect. From the beginning you could tell he's not a bad guy and he doesn't transform suddenly, not like the typical books where the guys realizes he loves the girl and instantly changes. No, that doesn't happen. He's my favorite character in this series. Oh gosh, I'm in love with a book character!

"If you feel something for me, tell me now. Please, tell me because I can't stop thinking about you and I don't know what to do about it."

I enjoyed Holly as a character, but as person I don't think I would have liked her as much. I don't want to spoil the book so I can't tell you what happens but people like her really annoy me. Nevertheless, she was fun character who loves cars. She doesn't want to get hurt and Tripp has danger written all over him. I love the way she acts when she's with Tripp; he's her other half.

"Man, I hate to be apart from that girl, but I love watching her walk away. Her ass had to be one of my favorite body parts."

Tripp and Holly! FIREWORKS! When they're together all I imagine are the FIREWORKS exploding in the night sky! I know a good book when an author makes me feel the character's connection beyond the pages of the book. This is my favorite book from the series and can't wait for the next one! TYKE!!! YAY! I'm so happy the series continues but can't wait for it! I'm really impatient when it comes to books!
