Between the Sheets Blog Tour (Review+Giveaway)

I was really excited to read Between the Sheets because I love novels with kids. Kids create such a strong bond between characters. They also makes the plot stronger and the characters believable. This was true for this book!

Shelby has not had the best few months of her life. After a scandalous event with a man, her reputation changes in the small-town of Bishop. She tries to hardest to forget but it's hard to forget that very public, embarrassing thing. She tries to keep herself closed off to other people but with Ty, her new neighbor, it keeps on getting harder and harder to keep him away.

Shelby is an interesting character. I'm not sure if I liked her. She made her relationship with Ty impossible because she always kept of running away. I like when a heroine plays hard to get, but Shelby played impossible to get.

Ty has a lot on his plate. He's trying to raise a son he didn't even know he had until a few weeks ago. He's trying to adjust to the new town, and on top of all of that, he can't keep his mind off Shelby. Ty is an admirable person. He's a very good father. He's always there for his son, but he needs a woman.

When I try to imagine Ty and Shelby, I just think of opposites. Shelby is an art teacher, who's a church-goer, while Ty is a man with a motorcycle and hard edges. You wouldn't think of them as the ideal couple but they're made for each other. They're able to let go when they're alone together.

This story can be read as standalone novel, but the other characters in the previous books of the series do appear. There were many secondary characters! I still can't make up my mind on this matter. Did I like it or not? It did made the whole book feel more realistic, but at the same time, it took away from the main characters.

Between the Sheets is a book about self-discovery and never giving up on love. It's an okay read for me. The love was there, the hot men were there, but there was something missing. (3 1/2 hearts)
