REVIEWYAY for historical romances! I've mentioned a few times my love for historical romances because the love is so pure and true. The encounters also happen to me steamy and forbidden! What is there not to love about it?
In The Danger in Tempting an Earl, we meet Lucien, and Earl, and Katherine, a recent widow, who happen to be longtime friends. Lucien has always been in love with Katherine and was heartbroken when she got married. Katherine has never thought about Lucien as something other than a friend-- until now. She's not my favorite character, though. She happened to get on my nerves a little bit too much. Her feelings were all over the place!
Lucien has been through a lot. He fought in a war against Napoleon and travelled all over Europe. His brother and father are both dead which leave him the responsibility of become the Earl. I think it was very romantic how in love he was with Katherine. You could feel that he truly wanted all of her, including her daughter from the previous marriage. He fights for her love even when she's indecisive, which is admirable because a lot of men would have given up on love with a women like Katherine.
Katherine and Lucien were meant to be together but I thought something was missing from their relationship. It's not often that I come across a couple like this. I like their dynamics but I needed more. Is it too much to ask in a historical romance?
There was a lot of things happening all at once. This can be annoying to the reader because it's very distracting. I wish the romance part would have been a little bit more focused.
Overall, this is truly a interesting read. BUT it was not my favorite. I've heard a lot of the previous books in the series and will most likely go back and read those when I'm in the mood for a historical romance. (3 1/2 HEARTS!)
