REVIEWThis book is an awesome MC novel! It has a feisty heroine with a badass Forsaken club member. I love when there's a balance of dominance. Although I enjoy alpha males, I love the women to be able to stand up for themselves, and Nicole totally showed she could handle herself in this one!
If you haven't read Ride, the previous novel of the series, read it! Although this could be read as a standalone novel, I wouldn't recommend it. There's too much history in the other novel to ignore it.
Nicole is a Lost Girl, her dad belonged to the club and so does she. She doesn't believe that she can be anything else, but Duke wants more with her. Nicole has always had a crush on Duke, but that doesn't stop her form rejecting him. She knows that as soon as she gives in, he will get tired of her and leave. She's a very guarded person, which is understandable in her situation. It takes Duke to while to break through her barriers but it's totally worth it.
Duke is the secretary of the Forsaken MC. He has to deal with a lot of shit, but he still wants Nicole at his side. As mentioned before, it takes him a while to win her over but he thinks its worth it. He doesn't give up on her and that what I love about it. It would have been easy for him to give up but he doesn't, he pursues!
The novel's plot still revolves around the Forsaken MC fighting against the mob, but at the same time it has its own very powerful issues it talks about. I would totally recommend this novel to an MC-loving girl!
